Y.O!

a blog by the librarians & volunteers from the Young People’s Services (Public Library)

Hello!

Welcome to Y.O! - a blog for young people and librarians - an initiative by the Young People’s Services, Public Libraries, to engage teens in learning and reading.

Y.O! stands for… well, we think it stands for nothing and yet everything:

  • Youth Online
  • Y-Online
  • YOuth-spotted!
  • Y-O‘clock

Or simply “Yo!”, a lingo used by teens to call their friends.

But really, the most important thing to me is for people to know that Y.O! is a blog for YOung People. Here’s more on how the blog got its name.

lisa2.JPGI’m Li Sa, one of the YOeditors. I’m a librarian, Adult & Young People’s Services. My colleagues and I provide library and information services to teens and young adults.

Y.O! went “live” on Christmas Eve and we (the Y.O! blog team) are still in the process of tweaking parts of the blog.

So, stay tuned to Y.O!

If you’re between 13 and 19 YO (acronym for years old*), feel free to leave your comments, blog it and send us your blog url, or email us to give us feedback and suggestions for this blog.
