Why does the blog look like this?
I’m not sure if those of you reading or writing on this site would ask this question, “Why do you choose this design for your blog?”
3colours
Or maybe you couldn’t care less. : )
But a group of students from ITE Bishan were very eager to give their inputs on the kinds of design they like.
(This same group of students also came together to brainstorm names for the blog.)
They told me that:
1. they liked designs that were simple and neat but not too plain
2. they liked vibrant colours but not too loud
3. look and feel must be soothing to the eyes
4. texts must be readable
ok, at that moment I was thinking, “how come so many but(s)!”.
We took two three-hour sessions and some online discussions to decide that 3colours design was the Chosen One among the many other designs from Wordpress Theme Viewer.

[Quote-Unquote from the students]:
“It has a modern look. Vibrant and eye-catching colours.”
“The template consists of 3 bright and vibrant colours. Simple yet definitely appealing. Not too plain, not too abstract; JUST NICE! :)”
“I like it! Really :)”
“The colours caught my attention. The design is neat too.”
But… …
This time the “but” came from me.
I liked the Freshapple design:

So how???
I decided to seek a second opinion and a 15 year-old boy volunteering at Bishan Community Library answered in a matter-of-fact tone that 3colours design would appeal to more teenagers because “most teens liked abstract stuff”.
However, he also qualified that Freshapple design wasn’t uncool, less attractive, etc, but “green apple is a green apple” and it was a fact that the object was an apple and nothing else!
Alright… … I had to admit defeat and we fixed on 3colours design and changed the background colour of the right-hand column from white to black, as suggested by Kamilah, a student from ITE Bishan.
P.S: Freshapple was ranked second highest, followed by Colorsidea and Nycreds by the students.

Very fresh look to this blog. Like the apple based theme!
