Nice new NLB Reminder Service!
(Ed.’s note: I was checking the emails in the ShowTeens mailbox , I found Hui Yie’s article on ”Nice new NLB Reminder Service!”, dated 3rd April 2008.
“Bingo! that’s exactly what I need!”
Well, I was tasked to post NLB SMS and Email Reminder Service on Y.O! blog and was just wondering what to say to you when I spotted the write-up by Hui Yie, our Y.O! blogger.
However, I need to highlight to you that the steps to register SMS and Email Reminder Service in the post are no longer valid because NLB website took on a new look yesterday (15th April 2008) plus there are 2 new websites for the National Library’s users and the Public Library’s users.
But no worry, just click -> JUST CHECK if you want to sign up for the service.
[By the way, this post wasn’t solicited by us and minimal editing has been done to present the write-up in its original form as much as possible :)]
Thanks Hui Yie!)
Hello youngsters! Glad that you are tuning in to read the blog.
I am here to tell you about a new service provided by the NLB - SMS Service Reminder!
This is to help you to remember to return your books on time (so that you don’t get finedand it wouldn’t cause the library trouble). It is really good and is FREE!
Ok, let me tell you more about this service.
You choose the number of days (3, 5 or 7 days) prior to the due date to get notified
Then, you will receive the SMS or email alert before the due date!
How cool is that?
Roadshows will be set up in Libraries across Singapore, so you can look out for it and sign up for this wonderful service!
However there is also an alternate (and easier) way to sign up for this service:
Step 1: Visit http://www.nlb.gov.sg/
Step 2: Look at the top toolbar, under Services, click “e-services”.
Step 3: Click the link Reminder and Notification Service
Step 4: Fill in your particulars on the first page and submit. Then, fill in the second page as well and you are done!
Isn’t this easy?
It is a free service and it can help you save money and trouble from overdue items.
Therefore people, hope that you can make GOOD use of this new and useful service.
For more information on this e-service, you can approach the friendly library staff at the Customer Service Counters at the libraries and I believe they will help you in whatever way they can.
HOPE THAT YOU CAN MAKE GOOD USE OF THIS SERVICE!
