Let us celebrate Singapore’s victory!
Right after the results of the bid to host the Youth Olympic Games were announced on 21 Feb at 7pm, my colleague, Grace, sent out a book display poster to all the librarians and branch liaison officers.
The next morning, we set up book displays on Youth Olympics 2010, to celebrate and support Singapore’s victory.
Some of the titles on displays are:
A fledgling sporting Singapore: stories of Singapore young sports talents.
Call No: Y SING 796.09225957 FLE
In the spotlight: stories of Singapore sports celebrities.
Call No: Y SING 796.09225957 IN
Achievements off the beaten track: stories of Singapore sports veterans.
Call No: Y SING 796.09225957 ACH
Sports extreme Singapore: a guide to selecting cool sports in a hot city.
By Benjamin Chiang.
Call No: SING 796.095957 CHI
Glory: the story of Singapore water polo.
Call No: SING 797.25095957 GLO
Take a peep at some of the displays. At Seng Kang & Pasir Ris Community Libraries, readers could also participate in a Youth Olympic Games Quiz.
So join us and celebrate! And remember to leave us your thoughts and comments on YOG.
