“Hello, Uncle Shelby, this is Lafcadio the Great. Can you come to my house immediately? I need your advice because you are the wisest man in all the world!”
“Of course I’ll come,” I said. “I have never yet let down a friend in trouble.” And so I dressed in a hurry and went out into the night which was 65 below zero, and I remember I couldn’t get a taxicab and so I had to walk the twelve miles in the snow and it took me fifteen minutes because the snow was very deep and I forgot my galoshes. And when I got to Lafcadio’s castle the butler showed me in through the hallway, which was made of silver, and through the dining room, which was made of platinum, and into the the study, which was made of gold, and there was Lafcadio the Great-and do you know what he was doing?
He was crying.
“Why are you crying, my friend?” I asked. “You have money and you are famous and you have seven big cars and you loved by everyone and you are the greatest shot in all the world. Why are you crying – you have everything!”
“Everything isn’t everything,” said Lafcadio the Great, dripping big tears down on the golden rug.
“I’m tired of my money and my fancy clothes.
“I’m tired of eating Rock Cornish hen stuffed with rice.
“I’m tired of going to parties and dancing the cha-cha and drinking buttermilk.
“And I’m tired of smoking five-dollar cigars and playing tennis and I’m tired of signing autographs and I’m tired of everything! I want to do something new!”
“Something new?” I asked.
“Something new!” he said. “But there isn’t anything new to do!’’
And he started to cry again.

Well.. there are many things that make me happy like my family members will always be with me,even in my darkest hours, encouraging me and comforting me all the time.Money will never make me happy but I can bring happiness to other people by donating it to people who require it the most like old people in the old folks home, orphans in the orpanage and patients who are suffering diseases like cancer.The smiles on these peoples’ faces will make me feel like I have just grasped Happiness in my hand.
My friends also bring me happiness as they encouraged me when I did super bad in my Mathematics exam.When I did slightly better the next round, they congratulated me.I think it was their encouragement that helped me during the exam.My friends also a cheerful bunch and they always make me laugh when they tell me jokes to help me forget my worries and problems.
My brothers are really funny and kind-hearted.When I am down, they will perform many types of stunts to make a smile come back to my face. If it does not work,They will give me a comforting hug and comfort me.
My parents are a loving pair and they are very funny . They cheer me up by using methods like tickling me or sitting on my legs.
I really love all the happiness I have and I hope you all are happy too.

First of all, my family and cousins bring me happiness. My parents are always encouraging me to do what I like unless it is dangerous. My parents are also very caring and loving towards me and my sister. Although my sister is very fussy, she cares about me. She tries to protet me when I am in trouble and I appreciate that. My sister and my cousins always play with me whenever I am bored and they are very nice.
My friands also bring me happiness in school. They are very funny and I enjoy being around them. I always go recess together with my friends.
I enjoy playing badminton and that makes me happy as i enjoy the sport. Badminton is a very good excercise as it trains your stamina and it strengthtens your mental strength as well. For example, while you are in a competition, you have to have the stamina to run and if you are losing, you would also need the mental strength to persevere on.
I appreciate whatever I have and I am very grateful for all these things.

I find that doing the things I like brings me happiness. Happiness is also being with the people you love.
Things such as money and branded clothes cannot bring you happiness. You may be the most famous person on earth but it may not bring you happiness.
Other than doing the things I like and being with the people I love, I will also share my happiness with other people who are less fortunate. I hope that this world would be filled with happiness.

My family members give me happiness. When I am unhappy, they cheer me up. When I am happy they laugh with me.My brother makes me laugh with his weird antics when I am angry or upset( especailly after my mum has scolded me)
My friends(especially close friends who know me inside out), cheer me up when I am down. They will comfort me by telling things that they know will make me happy or smile. They may even bring me to places that arefun(eg. a shopping trip or the theme park)
Money and fame definitely cannot brng happiness. Even though a person have money and fame, one will never be happy.What makes us happy are actually friends, family members, relatives and so on.
We can also be happy when we have helped somebody, like helping an old lady cross the road ot a blind man. it makes us feel happy that we have helped somebody in need of our help.
So come on, and start making others feeling down happy! =)

Deborah: What brings me happiness is family. Having a family means company. Even if I am rich or famous , it would not make me happy because money cannot buy family. Money cannot buy happiness.
Ericia: What brings me happiness? Many things can bring me happiness but I feel that spending time with your loved ones is a very blissful thing. Money is not everything… Even doing everyday chores with your famiily can be make you happier than being rich or famous.

My parents and my sister encourages me when I am feeling down. Though my sister always quarrel with me, she would tell some jokes to cheer me up. I feel very fortunate having them as my family members.
Though my father travels very frequently, he will try his very best to have some family time together. he will bring us out for some relaxation after the boring examinations in school. Besides this, he will buy the things that I would want to buy. But for my mother, she would not allow. She will come back early to teach me the homework that is given each day.
In school, when i am sad, my friends will comfort me and i will forget about my unhappiness.
Money will not bring someone happiness. It is when someone comforts you or think of solutions to the problem, this will definitely make you smile.
I am very fortunate and grateful for the things that I have around me.

My family brings me happiness. They encourage me when I am discouraged. To me, having a family is the happiest thing that can happen. My family also showers me with love, care and concern.
Having friends are also something that can make me happy. There are like your closest buddies you can rely on when you need help.
Scoring well in my exams can also bring me happiness. When I pass with flying colours, I feel on cloud nine.
Money cannot buy the love, care and concern my family showers me with, regardless of how much money I have. I learnt to appreciate those that are around me.

I think that happiness is sharing the happy things in life with your friends and family or maybe strangers. Scoring well in exams are also being happy. Your satisfaction with yourself becomes happiness, and you also bring happiness to your family as they would feel proud of you. Like Lafcodio the Great, his fame, fortune cannot buy him the happiness, love and joy he wants and needs.

Happiness depends on the person himself. In my opinion, seeing my family members and my friends safe and sound gives me enough happiness. Without their support, i wouuld have never been able to come this far. ‘
For others, things might give them the happiness they want.

Happiness is something that I must search for, something that I want to do, something that I like and being with the people whom I want to be with.
My friends and family give me happiness. We encourage each other as we walk through our journey in school. We go shopping and watch movies together. When I am surrounded by my best friends, I think I have happiness as we laughtogether. Even the simplest of things make us happy. Even talking over some popcorn chiops and soda works magic. When we laugh I think that is what I call happiness.
Happiness is something that I must pursue.

When i was young, i would always think that money and fame gives you the upmost happiness, but i was wrong. How can we be happy when we have weak realationships with our parents? Thus, i think that peace within the family gives me the greatest happiness. Their continuous support and understanding towards me make me feel i am on the top of the world. I feel that doing the things I’m interested in without being stopped by anyone makes me happy. I have a great interest in art because it lets me express myself through pictures when I don’t want to tell others what is on my mind.

Going for a walk can bring me happiness. It allows me to have time for myself to calm down. By the time i reach home, my sadness would be all gone.
My hobbies also bring me happiness. They help me kill time when i’m bored or cheer me up when i’m sad.
Actually, money can help bring happiness. When you are sad and need comfort like food, money is also needed to buy the food.

Having friends can also bring you happiness.When you are down or need help, you can always rely on them.
However, I feel that money can make you happy as when you are sad or very stressed,some people tend to eat comfort food or go on a holiday to relax and money is needed for these things.

What brings me joy is the question that always bugs my mind. I feel that the source of joy changes according to the level of maturity, the age etc. Perhaps a 12 year old feels that Nintendo DS kit is the ultimate joy. Matured adults feel that great investment lands are a joy. Teens think ADIDAS and Converse are a souce of joy.
For me…..lots …… Wii, Dance, Songs, Cycling,family,friends,overseas,money….being pampered, getting attention…:)

Happiness is something you can never buy with money, no matter how rich you are.
My family and friends make me happy. Although my parents are really busy at times, they still try to make time to bring my sister and me out to have fun.
My friends encourage me when I am feeling down. They cheer me up and never fail to put a smile back on my face.
These are the people who make my day!

Happiness is doing something you enjoy doing and you have a feeling named ”Happiness”.
Well , there are some people who thinks that happiness can be bought by money but … NO! Thats’ not true … Let me give you an example , you have tons of money and yet you are not happy. So , whats’ the point of having so much money , all to yourself ?
For me , Friendship and kinship is happiness . Im not as fortunate as some of you people as my mom works and my dad works. I don’t really have much time to chat and spend with them. my happiness is to have lots of time chatting happily with my parents and beloved friends ! Although sometimes we might quarrel over small matters , but we are still friends and will get over it soon.

There are many things that make me happy, I guess. Well, the first on my list would be my friends. My best friends have been with me since I was in Primary Three, I think. Many people have joined our group over the years but in the end, we’re always the most closely-knitted and those people have left–probably because they feel left out. Whenever I’m upset, they can tell (but even if they don’t), and hanging out with them always makes me feel better. I trust them with my problems and secrets, and they always manage to help me find solutions to them.

They encourage me through tough times and help me overcome stress. My dog on the other hand, helps me by making my life lively because he’s very playful. Although happiness comes in different forms, your desire may be what you think you need but once you get it, it is totally useless. Happiness is when you are enjoying yourself and when there are people around to enjoy it with you. My happiness is going overseas for holidays, chatting with friends, going out, shopping and eating desserts. Lastly, you should never take happiness for granted.

Hmmmmm, let me think…. well, I think that the thing the gives me happiness is my family! First on my list is ANIME! Although I feel very, very happy with my friends, they cannot take over anime! Though my friends are not from school, but from church, it does not matter because they live beside me! I just need to give them a call and I can go to lunch with them!^_^ But most of all… I think that being happy is being healthy. To me happiness is almost everthing in the world…….
Last time ,I am afraidof the dark.So I started to cry.My older sister Annabelle ,she started to get worried.She went to switch on the light and comfort me.That was when happiness came!
When I was in k2 ,I was playing with my brother and sister on the double decker bed.When I was half way climbing up the ladder ,I started to feel giddy and fell flat on the floor.The next moment ,I saw myself lying on the hospital bed.I saw my mother running towards me.She asked me if I was alright.Soon it was getting late ,my mother slept on a mattress just beside me.That was when I felt great happiness!

However, Valerie is a true friend to me. For example, when I am unsure about a question in math, she will be willing to explain the question to me and teach me. Hmmm let me see.Oh urmmm drawing and playing with oh so adorable pets brings me happines.Drawing makes me happy as when i am angry,i would draw a really angry picture and when i am sad i will draw a sad picture and i like it as you can express your feelings and you would feel better (for some)Oh and my adorable pets.Oh how i adore them by their looks and they bring me happines as when i am sad,they will comfort me and when i am angry they will show me a cute look also if i look down on myself, they will show me something so i would not look down on myself.I think people should get a pet like maybe a hamster as it is chip and easy to take care of and pets do help people stress level go down.So why not take my advice and just get a pet.(Fishes can also be a good pet)

Happiness to me is about sharing care for your family and sharing your happy moment and sad moments.When I was young, I was riding my bicycle.my father asked me to check my brakes before going down the steep slope but i was sure my brakes could work so i went down the slope. My brakes did not work and there was a metal bar in front,I could not turn in time and’BANG’I hit the bar and the blood was stained on the metal bar.My father came to help me and some other people helped me.They called the ambulance.I was terrified as we can see the bone.After the incident I had 7 stitches.Knowing people still care about me, THAT brings ME HAPPINESS

My parents will bring us to play in the playground and bring us out during the weekends and holidays.whenever i have done well in my school work,my parents and teacher will tell me tahat i have done a good job and this makes me very happy too.

Happiness is something you cannot buy.It is something you deisire,something that everybody needs.My family members make me happy by enccouragingme to do what i want, except for things that are dangerous.They will always be with me even if i am rude to them.I help my brother in his studies, and this brings him happinees.Money will never make anybody happy.Friends,parents,siblings,cousins,aunts,uncles can bring happiness.

My parents are my happiness.
Without I will be a dead fish. Parents are the one who will keep you happy,take care for you and most importantly,love you like no one else has loved you that much before!For those people who don’t like their parents I think you should read this because parents are everything to us!
