On one of the rare occasions that all 17 of us were at the branch at the same time, we decided to take a “family portrait”.
According to this post at Youth.sg, 45.24% of readers polled will miss us (at our current physical site lah). Yup, as the Youth.sg blogger puts it, “It’s never easy to say goodbye”, but choking emotionally on bookworms and silverfish just isn’t our style. 
Oh, and to the 18.89% who didn’t know we exist, well, now you know!

I was on course the last couple of days in Toa Payoh library. During the two-day course, it was not unusual for colleagues from other departments to start off conversations with, “Hey, I heard you guys are gonna close…”.
Haha. Well, numerous interesting conversations ensue from it. Conversations kinda picked up from there to work, family, hobbies, food, etc. So now when I hear someone goes “Hey, I heard you guys are gonna close…”, I see an opportunity to get to know a colleague better
and also to find out about how they feel about us.
Psst… from what I gathered, everyone is excited about our comeback in 2010!
Right said. Already looking forward to the return of library @ orchard! Any idea as to whether – due to its location at *.scape – the new library’s having a greater youth focus?
And because it was such an sprawling iconic part of the mall, wondering if you’re lining up any goodbye ceremony/ auctioning off bookshelves/ the sort

The one at *scape is definitely targetted at youth, or most probably, teens. The other not-yet-disclosed location will probably be complementing it by focusing on collections and services for working adults.
There’ll be a party at the library on our last day, Nov 30, we’re still working out the details of this, but no lelonging of stuff planned! ppl will probably be able to borrow their last bk from this location as we’re planning to be fully operational until the last min (8.59
)
I think 1 of the things that I will miss the most abt this plc is the colleagues… You guys are the best bunch of people I’ve worked with.. I’m sure to miss the laughter & the jokes that we share… *grins*
Going to get a bit sentimental here…From the short time I have known staff at library@orchard or affectionately, what we call OC, they are a great bunch of people with a lot of passion and synergy among them and I’m proud to be part of that team. Hats off to all of us!
oh my! looking at that pic of you guys made me tear! i miss OC so dearly much! and of course am missing you guys, my superbly great colleagues as well. I’m sure so gonna miss walking by Level 5 of Taka and going “i used to work here..” *sobs*

Hey dear!! Hehe… My studying ah? Goin pretty well laa. I just finished finals for my 2nd year, 1st sem. One killer paper but otherwise, the others were a’ok. Now already in 2nd sem! No time to breath, what more to rest. Heh. So what are you studying leh?
I’m doing the Msc ah, it’s part time so that means: nite classes!! argh and somemore classes are in faraway ntu (the ulu of the ulu). I’m now in another faraway place: cleveland, ohio for attachment! it’s super rainy…
OMG Jill!! You’re in OHIO!! woohoo!! that sounds nice! wah seh.. doing your MSc already.. cool! i’m cracking my brain for my BSc! LOL. I can’t wait for it to be over though. And yes, nite classes are such a bore, ain’t them! I really, really miss you guys. I must, must make sure i drop by real soon. *hugs*
