Libraries: More than just books
The Blogging Librarian (who incidentally spent some time at the library@orchard as well), mentions us in a post about “happening” libraries.
Yup, we’ve had our share of rock concerts at the library:

He also mentions a party at the Central Library in Seattle, it’s this huge, uber-modern looking public library which some of my colleagues have visited and raved about.
The party was reported as:
Maybe what we’re all so enamored with about the Central Library is that it isn’t a library so much as the best of all possible nightclubs, a romantic (yes! in the middle of all that modernism!) place where you might actually meet someone smart and fall in love right away and for forever.

Now, that’s an idea I’m all for: Booze + Books + Smart (and hopefully good-looking) strangers, sounds like a good formula! Maybe in the spirit of late-nite shopping at Orchard Road, we’ll have a Nite Out @ the library event. Something we could try for one of the new libraries @orchard (the adult one ;p)?
Time to humbly consult the “powers-that-be”…
