Vibes from the blogosphere

Bcos my secret ambition is to be a PI, I decided to investigate what was being said in the blogs and forums.

Here’s what I found…
Most people who blogged (or posted in forums) about us will miss us! Yup, sometimes I really wonder if Singaporeans appreciate libraries, so it’s encouraging to read postings where they actually express it. Oh, and thanks to Van Tan for mentioning our humble blog. :)

It appears that there are some concerns as well. Some were concerned that the new sites wouldn’t be as convenient as our current venue (but there was some debate about that in the SPUG forum cos some folks couldn’t even find us now…).

Others were worried about where the current collection would be going (Answer: most likely we’ll be re-distributing it to nearby libraries) and about the 3 year wait. The rental cost vs public good issue was also brought up, and the Digital Terrorist lamented that Singaporean Youths couldn’t care less about books.
