One of my favourite celebrity chefs, Jamie Oliver, is turning 37 on May 27! I enjoy his TV series such as The Naked Chef, Oliver’s Twist, and more recently, Jamie’s Thirty Minute Meals, from which I have learnt a few new fast and tasty recipes.

A father of 4, Jamie Oliver is also passionate about children’s dietary habit, and led a food revolution in the UK and the US against unhealthful cafeteria food in schools. He showed to the world the food school administrators were feeding schoolchildren – sauce-laden spaghetti, instant pizza, and french fries (which count as a portion of vegetable in the US). His food revolution has brought changes to the school lunch scene in the UK, receiving endorsement from the British government. Jamie was also award the MBE from the Queen for his contribution to the food industry.

I admire the sheer passion he has in what he does, and how he uses his fame to bring about positive changes in the world. His humble beginning also inspires me.
