Staff Profile: Peck Keong
Associate Librarian, library@esplanade, Adult & Young People’s Services
Peck Keong spent his wayward youth trying to perfect The Sharpshooter as his signature finisher (Ed. — Bad example alert, kids. PLEASE, DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!), but hopes of one day starring in his own wrestling extravaganza went *poof* when he was forced into early retirement from the “ring” by his disapproving parents.
Peck Keong now realises he was a stupid kid then, and is extremely grateful to his parents for putting their foot down on his foolish activities.
Grateful to be alive and kicking, Peck Keong turned his attention to the company of books and films. He recently declared — to no one in particular — that Roald Dahl is his favourite author and the Stephen Chow two-part epic, A Chinese Odyssey, is hands-down the best film evarrr!
Peck Keong considers himself a connoisseur of Stephen Chow movies — which goes a long way in showing his standard of taste.
Peck Keong also finds it quite amusing to refer to himself in the third-person and resolves to do it more often in the new year.
