Come join the NLB band and get fired up with creativity as we indulge in music by experimenting with a song’s bare acoustic essential (Stripped!), dividing song structure (Split!) and merging multiple songs via a single chord progression (Switched!).
Maybe some of you are familiar with the term “remix”, but have you heard Police’s “Every Breath You Take” remixed with Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Car”??? Well, we’re gonna do it for ya live!
It’ll be plenty interesting and loads of fun, as we go all-out experimenting with the songs that you normally hear on air. Picking from the top hits, we’ll scale a wide range of genres, playing hits from Sting, No Doubt, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, My Chemical Romance, Alanis Morissette, Daughtry, and even the Jazzy classic “Fly Me to the Moon” by Bart Howard. The list goes on and we will even rock up the ante with the classical hit “Canon in D” by Pachebel.
So see you here at the library@esplanade this Saturday, 29.12.07 at 6.00pm. And kids, don’t try this at home.
The NLB Band:
The NLB band comprises NLB staff and invited guest musicians and singers. The latter may be close friends of the staff, regular library@esplanade’s patrons, or even family members of NLB staff.
We always believe that in music, there are no barriers. For us, music is a common language that binds people from all walks of life towards the attainment of elation and creativity. So book your diary and make a date with the band!
If you listen closely, you might stand to go home with exclusive prizes, cos there’ll be a quiz segment at the end of the show. It’s not just music entertainment y’all, it’s music enrichment too, as we get in touch with the theoretical and practical aspects of music.
So leave your worries behind and get your friends and family down to be involved in the world of creative music artistry. See you here!
Cheers,
Indrashah Isa
NLB Staff, Band Leader and creator of the NLB Band and Staff Jamz Programme
