Staff Jamz is back this year with more creativity and exciting feats! Yup, you got that one right, feat as defined as an act of skill, endurance, imagination or an achievement. The band is back for some fun with music y’all. This year’s theme for the 10th installment of library@esplanade’s Staff Jamz is MASHED UP!

Come down and learn how songs can be incorporated into one another, how medleys are formed and what are the key elements that make up medleys. Witness how 6 individual songs from the top hits be combined smoothly via a 4-chord progression. That may sound simple for the musicians, but can be tricky for the singers and they need to get their cues and melody right - had a lot of fun during rehearsals on this.

To make the medleys interesting, witness how the musicians play an array of alternate phrases, fills and rhythms so as to blend the different songs together. It’s an exciting challenge to be shared and witnessed.

Come and be entertained, as well as learn a thing of two about medleys. You might even go away with some prizes if you give the correct answer during our quiz segment. So listen hard during the music enrichment segment and you’ll reap the rewards later, ya? It’s not just entertainment, it’s music enrichment too.
