It is said that being an entrepreneur is different from being a businessman or businesswoman. Both are in the business (pardon the pun here) of making money right? Yes but the differences lie in the way of doing the business. We called someone an entrepreneur when he initiates, conceptualize and materialize a business process which is entirely unique ( Source: http://ezinearticles.com/?Difference-Between-an-Entrepreneur-and-Business-Man&id=1592570). In other words, he or she comes out with a refreshing idea or ideas to do business in a revolutionary way.
A businessman or businesswoman on the other hand, starts the business on existing platforms initiated by previous entrepreneurs. In short, an entrepreneur is a leader while a business is a follower.

hi i think your post is not quite correct. an entrepreneur may or may not be involved in a “business” so can be an entrepreneur in social work. also a businessman or woman may also come out with refreshing ideas.

You are correct to say that an entrepreneur does things in refreshing ways and such person can be found in other areas for example as you pointed out in social work. However for the purpose of this post, the focus is on doing business in an entrepreneurial way. I have modified some parts of this post to highlight this. Thanks for reading this post

any entreprenuer wannebe should also read the highly acclaimed book The E-Myth. Better to enter with a balanced view rather than rose-tinted glasses
